Description: A James Bond bond movie comes along every 3-5 years these days, and boy are they worth it, especially when Pierce Brosnan was playing in them, he seemed to be one of the best Bonds yet. But this year, Bond is blond and all new, which rattled a lot of Brosnan fan's cages. What they've done with this "new" bond (Daniel Craig) is focused more on doing less special effects and going back to O.G. style ones. Another thing is that most of the characters that were in the previous films are not present in this movie, this might be due to the fact that it is the "rebirth" of bond, in a modern-style world/age as to compared to the original. Being a Brosnan fan I was keen about seeing this movie and suspicious about how good/bad it will be. The first 10 minutes proved my suspicions true seeing as the intro-opening-musical-act lacked a certain panache that the Brosnan area always featured, for one, there were no women in it. As the movie progresses, its presented how bond acquired his Aston Martin DB5 which he trots around in some scenes in other movies (like the f355 scene in Goldeneye), the disappointment is that the DB5 in this movie is LHD while the past movies show it in RHD format, which kind of ruins its historical value.

One thing that didn't dissapoint in this movie is the action sequences. The movie has a way of showing that these scenes are not blue screened without going overboard with it; although some scenes I do think that had to be blue screened unless they had a stunt man with the DNA of a monkey of some sort. The typical bond smirks and catch phrases are also present but not as well displayed as in previous ones.

Aston Martin lent their new pre-production DBS (actual sales are to be introduced in march 07) model which looks damned sweet but gets limited use in the movie, there was actually 5 of them made for the movie, 3 which were ruined by the stunt team and 1 which Daniel Craig burned the clutch on.

Bonds line of new gadgetry also included the Apple IPhone. This is a really great way to advertise the IPhone and matching it up to the character. With all the capabilities the IPhone has, it is a great resource to a superspy/hero like bond himself. You see him briefly use it in the movie, must be some special edition too, since it was all white, and all pics of advertised ones I've seen were black. This means that apple already had working IPhones back in the spring of 06 (when the movie was shot) considering the IPhone's actual release date of sometime late June 2007.

Another car which was presented in the movie is the new ford Mondeo prototype (which is ford U.K.'s bread and butter & set to go on sale in mid-07);which was the only one of its kind in existence rumored to be worth somewhere upwards of 4 Million USD . The car looks damned sweet with its sleek lines and all and nothing you'd expect from a ford, not anything we get here that is. I do not want to reveal too much without saying too much but a good part of the movie does focus on a high stakes poker game (which is shot in the actual Casino Royale in Prague, Czech Republic) for the ultimate cash prize to submit the movie villain into a surrender or default. The movie does keep you up on your feet, especially with its 2 & half hour duration, and not one time was I wanting to take a nap. The ending of a movie seems to be not totally an ending (this is supposed to be the 1st of a trilogy presumably) & is unlike any other Bond "Ending" I've seen. Although not a Brosnan movie, I think it was made really well, but Brosnan fans will be disappointed. I'd give it a 5 out of 5, but really think it deserves a 4 1/2.
