Guild Wars Prochecies is a Competitive/Cooperative Online Role-Playing Game (CORPG), created my ArenaNet and NCsoft. It is primarly a MMORPG, but it has its differences. The major one which appeals most to online gamers is that after the purches of the game, no more fees are needed to be payed. Only Access to the internet, and most online gamers will have this already mabye? = P

Also it has a low cap level (20), this is a great idea as it doesnt let players have a unfair advantage over noobs as it were. More so in PvP (Explained later). But this cap is not applied to the monsters within the game, these in some areas can go to 30+. Then you dont want to go play a different game, when you and 3 other level 20 characters with full armour get beaten level 30+ monsters.

The main consept of the game is Skills. Skills, which you have up to 8 at a time at the ready to unless on your enermies, are dependent on the profession that your character is. Through out the game there are two types of skills, Normal and Elite Skills. Elite are better but harder to get, this may include killing a giant dragon with sword prof armour.

When creating a character you are given a choise of 6 different professions:

Warrior, the only melel profession in the game. A warrior can take alot of beating and needs to be when in close quarters, he can weild swords hammers or axes, what you use is up to you and can be changed at any point in the game, providing you have another weapon.

Ranger, a powerful ranged attacker. A good ranger can fight from close up, or from a long distance. However, as they can only attack one enemy at a time, large crowds normally spell doom. With a good set of skills, and good use of combos, this profession can be very effective.

Monk, possess the strongest abilities for healing other characters, using both Healing Prayers and Divine Favor. Protection Prayers provide buffs to the party to improve their stats, notably armor and health, while Smiting Prayers allows Monks to do considerable damage to enemies, especially the undead.

Mesmers, experts in indirect damage and subtle magic. Mesmers are best suited in preventing their opponent from achieving their goals, whether that be to heal, cast spells, or attack. In order to do this they make use of a multitude of spells, hexes and enchantments.

Elementalists, the classical fireball and lightning bolt spellcasters of the game. Their power lies in their ability to do hefty amounts of damage in a short time. No profession can deal damage as frequently and in as great amounts as the Elementalist.

Necromancer, a class that focuses on manipulating Health: spending it, stealing it, altering rates of regeneration and degeneration, and even exploiting a body when it hits zero Health. When the Necromancer wants to hurt a target directly, it's generally Shadow damage or Cold damage, and often as part of a Hex.

After choosing a profession you choise male or femail, colours and then name (consisting of two words). Then you choise between PvE (Player vs Enviroment) this is where you would play the campaing missions along-side other players. And PvP (Player vs Player) does what it says on the tin, you against every other PvP character.

Then you are free to roam the world, level up, and make friends! Overall this is a damn good game, the only downside (for me) is that if you dont have unlimited downloads you see yourself playing for half an hour a week, just incase you use it all up. But thats also a good thing you dont become addicted!

Pros: Fun COPRG, and its free!
Cons: The game is all online, and although it was designed for 56k'ers if you do not have umlimited downloads its a no go.
