Rainbow Six: Lockdown is a tactical First Person Shooter for the PC. The game has been very well done and does a great job bringing you into the world that they put you in.

In Rainbow Six: Lockdown, you are put in as a team leader for a total of 4 members in your squad. As soon as you start, you get put right into the action as you land on the roof of a parking garage. The first corner you turn puts you right into the action as you begin to take heavy fire. There are many different objectives in the game that many gamers will be excited about. One of the more common objectives is the escorting hostages. Occasionally there is a bomb or two that you need to defuse, and a tough situation that will take some thinking to get out of.

The sounds in the game are great and really give you a sense that you are there as the gun is being fired. The different variety of guns you can choose from is great, and the menu before you go into any mission is well done in letting you pick what weapons you and your team mates have. You can customize the weapon with different accessories to make it perform better in different ways.

The game does have its fun qualities but also lacks in some areas such as the AI. The AI at times is just plain stupid. I had no trouble shooting a few guys on one side of a room, and walking to the other side and popping the other guy in the head without him even seeing me. There are also times where an enemy crouches for cover in a corner and doesn’t shoot back as you walk right up to him and give him a nice little goodbye bullet.

The AI of your team mates also lacks. You at times can be a one man team. An example of this is that an enemy can be standing right in front of a squad member and pop him right in the head without the squad member firing one shot. This is a little ridiculous and will begin to get on a persons last nerve. But when the AI of your team mates and enemies are performing well, there is a lot of fun to be had.

The environments are very well done ranging from a museum to catacombs. The visuals are very smooth and the HDR lighting is nice in outdoor maps, the shadowing effects do a good job on indoor maps. There are still some problems with some objects, at different times in the game, at certain angles you can see through items, such as doors, chairs, walls. This is hopefully a bug they can fix in a future patch, but doesn’t happen that often throughout the game.

The online mode can be a lot of fun as well, you can play the single player missions with the co-op mode, and you can also do Team Death match and Death match. There are some bugs that I hope are worked out in future patches, but the online modes are a huge reason to pick up this game.

Overall Rainbow Six: Lockdown is a great game with its bugs here and there, but can still give a gamer hours and hours of fun.

Pros: Graphics, Sounds, Gameplay
Cons: AI, needs a little more options online
